AN ACT to Amend New Jersey Statute N.J.A.C. 6A:14-2.8(a)1 Discipline of Preschool Students with Disabilities: Prohibits the suspension or expulsion of preschool students with disabilities.
Enactment Clause: 
Be it enacted by the Youth Model Legislature of the State of New Jersey that schools in the State of New Jersey are able to suspend or expel preschool students with disabilities under special circumstances.
Sections: 
Section I: New Jersey Statute N.J.A.C. 6A:14-2.8(a)1 shall be amended to read as follows: DISCIPLINE OF PRESCHOOL STUDENT WITH DISABILITIES: SCHOOLS SHALL BE ALLOWED TO SUSPEND OR EXPEL PRESCHOOL STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES UNDER SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES.
Section II: The special circumstances are to be defined as any act violating a student and/or staff member’s safety.
Section III: The Board of Education members in the Special Education Committee will oversee and enforce the suspension and expulsion of preschool students with disabilities.
Section IV: The Board of Education Vice President of the county which the school is located would determine what the consequence would be for the school should they disobey the law.
Effective Date: 
This bill shall take effect during the 2019-2020 school calendar year.
Statement of Intent: 
My intent is to keep consistency with discipline of students throughout the school grades.
Author's Note: 
It would cost about $14,560 annually to fund the committee, and no more than $3,200 total for the clerical work required for schools and/or districts to file the disciplinary, suspensions and/or expulsion paperwork required, to the state.
